Licensed Drivers from Other Countries

Anyone applying for a Connecticut Drivers License is required to obtain a Connecticut Learner’s permit regardless of age. The permit test appointment MUST be scheduled online. The DMV website is www.dmvct.org. You will be given an eye exam prior to the 25 question knowledge test.

The documents you will be asked to present are Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Passport, 2 pieces of recent mail showing the postmark date which is your proof of residence in Connecticut. Each applicant may be asked to present other documents according to your status. (Refer to DMV web site for check list)

All drivers must complete an 8 Hour Alcohol, Drug and Safety Program. The 8 hour class is held on Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. Part 1 & Part 2 are required. When registering for this safety program you are required to complete the application, using your Legal name, answer all questions and include the dates you will be attending. Class space is limited, walk-ins are welcome upon availability. The fee for this course is $130.00.

Upon completion of the course you will be given a CS1 certificate which must be presented to the MVD when you take your road exam.

Driving instruction is also available at $85.00 per hour. Lessons can be scheduled Monday thru Saturday.
The use of our car for your road exam is also available. Our instructors will take you to your road exam provided that all requirements have been fulfilled. A minimum of 2 hours of behind the wheel driving instruction is required (this is the minimum requirement by the State of Ct.)
