6/8 Driver Training Program for Teenagers and Adults

At Tom’s Driving School, we realize that many of today’s students do not have the time in their busy schedule to attend a full driver’s education program. As an alternative to our regular driver education program we are now offering our new 6/8 driver training program. This program consists of the mandatory 8 hour safety course along with 6 hours of on the road training. Students will be taught the skills necessary to become a safe and confident driver. Students will be made aware of sign and road markings to have a better understanding of how to safely operate a motor vehicle. Also covered during these lessons will be lane positioning, traffic controls, rotaries, turning, parking and highway driving.


Teenagers:

The 8-hour Safe Driving Course including a mandatory 2 hour parent/student class. Class consist of three sessions part 1 (safety), part 2 (alcohol & drug), and part 3 (parent/student). Part 1 and Part 2 are held on Saturday’s. Part 1 is from 9-11:00am and Part 2 is from 9-1:00pm. Part 3, parent/student session is held once a month from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

Adults:

The 8 hour class is held on Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. Part 1 and Part 2 are required. When registering for this safety program complete the application, using your Legal name, answer all questions and dates you will be attending.

The cost of this training program is $650.00.
Driving lessons may be scheduled Monday – Saturday.

For all student 16-19 years old who complete the course and have met all state requirements, have the option to take their DMV Road Test at Tom’s. Once the student has passed the road test, they must wait 48 hours before going to the DMV in Norwalk for their license. The cost of the off-site test is $195.00.
